Tools & Systems

I’ve built enough spreadsheets and templates to know one thing.

Eventually, someone asks: “Can we just make this an app?”

And sometimes, that’s a very good question. 😂

This is where I’m collecting practical tools, reusable templates, and software systems designed to help Business AI Architects run an AI-DLC, from canvas to customer. Some are simple. Some are technical. Some are still being developed.

The goal isn’t to replace professional judgment. It’s to reduce the repetitive work around it.

Business Problem Discovery Canvas

Current process. Friction. Root cause. And the honest question: does AI belong here at all?

BUSINESS PROBLEM DISCOVERY CANVAS 1 · Current process2 · Friction3 · Root cause4 · Does AI belong? □ AI□ Simple automation☑ Fix the process

Business Problem Discovery Canvas

Start with the business problem.

AI-DLC · Canvas Status · Toolkit development

A structured approach to capturing business needs, identifying process friction, and evaluating AI opportunities.

Designed for discovery workshops and early solution conversations.

  • Business discovery sessions
  • AI opportunity identification
  • Requirements framing
  • Initial value assessment

Solution Architecture Starter Kit

Turn an idea into something an engineering team can build.

AI-DLC · Architecture Status · Planned practitioner toolkit

Reusable structures for defining solution context, processes, applications, data, integrations, security, and implementation considerations.

Designed to make architecture practical for smaller engagements.

Idea-to-Blueprint Workflow

From business conversation to engineering blueprint.

AI-DLC · Canvas → AI builds Status · Concept · independent development

A workflow concept that connects business requirements to technical design and governed development.

The goal is to reduce the gap between understanding a problem and starting the engineering work.

AI Governance Toolkit

Because AI needs boundaries too.

AI-DLC · Test · approve Status · Toolkit development

Reference patterns for access control, human approval, testing, auditability, and risk-based automation.

Designed to help architects think about governance as part of the solution, not as paperwork added afterward.

Consulting Practice Kit

Good engineering is only part of running a consulting business.

AI-DLC · Canvas to customer, commercially Status · Planned

A proposed collection of reusable commercial and delivery assets:

  • Discovery workshop structures
  • Service offering templates
  • Proposal and statement-of-work outlines
  • Scope and assumptions checklists
  • Delivery planning templates
  • Acceptance and handover checklists

Using these tools with your own clients.

My intention is to make selected tools and methods available for professional use.

Some resources will be free. Others may require a purchase, subscription, or commercial license. The specific permissions will depend on the product.

Using a template in a client engagement is different from redistributing or reselling the underlying intellectual property. I’ll make those distinctions clear.

Because the last thing an architect needs is an architecture problem with the licensing agreement. 😂

What should I build next?

If you’re an architect, developer, consultant, or business owner, I’m interested in hearing which parts of your work are unnecessarily difficult. Not every suggestion will become a product. But the interesting ones are worth investigating.
